Customs
With the advent of the customs-enterprise partnership, materialized by the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), the structuring of the customs function is a prerequisite for secure and optimized value chain management in a tense international context where the need to master free trade agreements is fundamental.
Our recognized, multi-sector experience covers in particular:
- structuring the customs function (AEO status, internal control, procedures, customs clauses in contracts, choice of Incoterm, calls for tender and RDE contractualization, etc.);
- value chain modeling (value rescript, transfer price adjustments, contributions, royalties, etc.);
- optimizing and securing tariff classification, so that customs duties do not generate a competitive deficit;
- optimizing and securing VAT/Customs flows for sourcing (preferential origin, made in, inward and outward processing) and distribution (bonded warehousing, temporary admission, ATA carnet, etc.);
- management of refund claims and related positive litigation.
We also support our clients in reviewing their customs management, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and help them to become self-sufficient by passing on our know-how in accordance with the principle of transmission that motivates us.
Our assistance covers controls (ex-ante / customs clearance, ex-post), administrative and legal disputes, negotiation of settlements agreements, and criminal defense in conjunction with specialized colleagues.
